Senior Laravel Developer

We are Trend Capital, a technology company based in the PNW, seeking a senior Laravel developer for one of our core products, Bloom. Remote is fine as long as you are in the continental USA.

The ideal candidate will have experience building complex business applications using the Laravel (or Symfony) frameworks. The Bloom product you will be working on is a Laravel RESTful API that drives a separate React front-end for a SaaS product. You will only be working on the back-end; no front-end experience is necessary. It is a bonus if you understand the ins and outs of good API design as it pertains to front-end teams integrating effectively with your endpoints.

We pride ourselves on having very minimal management overhead / processes. We like to code, not sift through JIRA tickets and boring stand-ups all day. Because each of our developers work in highly autonomous roles with such little management or guidance, the right candidate will be very self-driven and self-managing.

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in back-end development, preferably in PHP but similar languages (Java, Python, C#) are fine
• 2+ years of experience with Laravel (or Symfony)
• Must be available to work with at least a few hours of overlap with PST business hours each day for collaboration
• Database design and implementation skills (PostgreSQL or similar)
• Creativity and problem solving
• Strong understanding of Eloquent ORM (or similar)
• Strong understanding of dependency injection, mocking, and testing code
• Must be able to speak and write fluent English

Preferred Qualifications

• NoSQL experience (Elasticsearch, MongoDB, etc.)
• Third party API integration experience (Stripe, Google Calendar, Google Maps, etc.)
• Cloud-native experience (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, etc.)
• Continuous integration experience (GitLab CI, Circle CI, etc.)
